Our History
A firm’s history is tied to its founders, who envision an institution led by like-minded individuals from diverse fields of learning, working towards a shared purpose and common goal. Our proprietor. Mr. Sandip Agarwal, Advocate, is a graduate from the prestigious University of Calcutta (batch of 1994). A competitive student, full of curiosity and highly passionate about the field of law, even during his college days, Mr. Agarwal engaged himself in legal research and tutelage at another firm. His reassuring, yet rigorous persona caught the attention of one of the city’s pioneering firms of that time, and he was made partner at S. Jalan & Co. Advocates.
Mr. Agarwal took up this opportunity as a way to hone his skill set, and gain exposure by working with the best judicial minds of the country. An active learner, listener and promising practitioner, even during his stint at Jalan, he managed to carve a niche for himself. Encouraged and motivated to push his boundaries even further, Mr. Agarwal realised that it was time to establish his own law firm. Hence, in 2000, he proceeded to create Sandip Agarwal and Co. Advocates, an institution immersed into building a legacy of strategic practices across the legal strata.
